Amber
 
Manifestation. The "good luck" stone brings the purifying, revitalizing force of the sun and the absorptive, transmuting energy of the earth together to create a powerful tool. Draws disease out of the body and transforms it. Clears negativity.
 
Amber is dry resin from trees that existed millions of years ago. It is usually gold or yellow-brown. Rarer colors are red, blue, or green. Sometimes one can find fossils encased in amber. This is caused by an object or creature being trapped by the sticky sap as it dries. This stone is good for every part of the body but it seems that it has the most powerful effect on the brain, lungs, thyroid, spleen, endocrine system, inner ear, and nerve tissue.
 
Amber is good for spiritual cleansing and for drawing out diseases and neutralizing the negative energy that brings them on. It is a grounding stone because of its close relationship with the earth. It promotes harmony and is good for depression. It is a stone dedicated to the connection of the conscious self to universal perfection. It helps one in the art of manifestation to bring that which is desired to the state of reality. It stimulates the intellect and opens the crown chakra.

 Black Obsidian
 
Apache Tears: One of the most important teachers of the New Age stones. Influences the stomach and intestines. The Protector. Surrounds the user with a shield of energy that blocks negativity. Chrysocolla

The "king" of all precious gems. It represents omnipotent power, purity and strength.  Emerald

The supreme nurturer. Highly valued by shamen as a sacred and powerful stone of protection and grounding. Provides safety during astral travel. Brings the energy of the sun to rejuvinate and strengthen the body. Helps tissue regeneration and smell. Jasper is a member of the Chalcedony family. It appears in red, yellow, green, and brown.
 
Like many other stones, each color has its own special energy. Jasper has a positive effect on all aspects of being but it is a slow worker. If used with patience the result will be an overall improvement of ones outlook and a feeling of "it all coming together". It is a stone of selflessness. Jasper can be used in the treatment of tissue deterioration of the internal organs, and for disorders of the kidneys, spleen, bladder, liver, and stomach - the energy is more appropriate for deterioration, rather than the actual state of malfunction. This mineral can be used to stimulate the working mechanisms of the white blood cells to engulf harmful organisms within the blood and to render them harmless. Keeping Crystals Clear of Negative Energy
 
Many crystals and stones offer protection against negative energy by pulling that energy into themselves. Therefore, it is necessary to cleanse them on a regular basis. After receiving or purchasing a stone it should be cleansed before use.
 
The following are ways to cleanse your crystals/stones:
 
Good Old Tap Water - Hold the stone under very cold tap water for one or more minutes. Spring water is said to be better but tap water will do.
 
Sea Salt & Water - Soak your stone a glass of water and sea salt. You should leave it in the solution for about a day.
 
Sun/Moon Light - Put your stone in sun/moon light during the the day/night. This not only cleanses it but also charges it with the natural energy of the sun or moon. Many crystal owners keep their stones on a window sill in their home at all times. Beware though, some stones like amethyst don't like to be kept in sunlight allof the time.
 
Sage - The early Native Americans used sage smoke to cleanse their environment and bodies of negative energy. It is quite functional in cleaning stones also. One can use sage smoke on just about anything.Sage can be purchased in smudge sticks (bound together to burn slowly), ground (to be burnt in pinches on hot charcoal in a special bowl filled with sand available at most new age and medicinal herb stores), or dry leaves (just light one end and watch your fingers as it burns down).
 
Use what ever method you feel most comfortable with.
